It’s a big day for the four clubs involved in action on Sunday.

All eyes will be on St. James’ Park on Sunday as Newcastle United (18th, 3 points) plays for the first time since the takeover by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, which is the club’s new majority owner. Even a draw would be a good result against Tottenham Hotspur (9th, 12 points) in the battle to avoid relegation. Meanwhile, Spurs can jump into fifth place with a win and permanently erase the memories of their recent three-game losing skid.

The Premier League’s top three all won their matches on Saturday and maintain their order in the standings: 1. Chelsea, 2. Liverpool, 3. Man City. It’s looking like this season could turn into a three-horse race with their pursuers losing ground. Brighton (4th, 15 points) was held to a 0-0 draw at last-place Norwich and Manchester United (5th, 14 points) and Brentford (7th, 12 points) both lost.

Those results also open the door for Everton (6th, 14 points) to move into a tie for third place with a win against West Ham (10th, 11 points), which can also make a leap in the standings with a win in this early season.

Undefeated in four matches, a resurgent Arsenal (13th, 10 points) meets Crystal Palace (14th, 7 points), which is looking better every week under former Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira. The Gunners are chasing a place in the top four and would move to within two points of that foursome with a win, while Palace would catch Arsenal in the standings in midtable with a win.
